Boulevard Brewing Co. is bringing back Crown Town Ale for a special run because — Royals! World champions!

Boulevard made the announcement on its brewery blog earlier today. A few weeks back, I asked ambassador brewer Jeremy Danner if we’d see a celebratory beer in the future. He was noncommittal at the time; hey, no one wanted to jinx this championship run, right?

The golden ale will be released in 750 ml bottles and 1/6 barrel kegs in mid-December. With demand expected to be high — because World Series Champions! — Boulevard has upped the production run for this limited-release beer.

Crown Town Ale features pale, Munich and honey malts and magnum hops.

“To complement a crisp, citrusy hop aroma provided by Lemondrop, Saphir, and Northern Brewer hops, we added dried orange peel to the wort right at the end of the boil during the brewing process,” Danner writes on the blog. “Fermentation was carried out by our house ale strain, used in perennial favorites Unfiltered Wheat Beer and Pale Ale, to create light, fruity esters. At 6.2 ABV and 25 IBUs, Crown Town Ale was brewed to be a refreshing beer worthy of everyday drinking, but special enough to celebrate our World Champions.”

Expected to get the beer, according to Boulevard:

And, to echo Danner, just drink the beer. This isn’t a beer to be hoarded or cellared.
