Imagine a cold, outdoor brewski at Boulevard Brewing Co.—not just on a patio with a little skyline view behind a big parking lot, but on a patio with the addition of some cozy string lights, greenery, and that same skyline (you can hide from that lower parking lot view here, though).

This summer, Boulevard will open its new Beer Hall Yard.

The Yard connects to the beer hall’s existing second-floor patio, tripling its patio space, and adds another entrance directly from the top floor of the parking garage. Plus, it’s got an outdoor bar window that cuts down your journey to more beers (or Quirks, as Director of Tours & Recreation Amber Ayres mentions they’ll spotlight here).

Boulevard announced construction earlier this year in January. There isn’t an exact opening date yet, but all that’s left is the furniture and fencing.

“We’re really excited to bring more fun outdoor vibes to the beer hall,” Ayres says. “Especially with one of the biggest sporting events happening right here this summer.”

She mentions the brewery’s walking distance from the KC2026 Fan Fest grounds—and Boulevard’s free parking.

Oh, and that IPA

They’re expanding the Space Camper cinematic universe.

For a limited time, you can get the Space Camper Star Striker IPA at the beer hall or in stores across the metro. Boulevard crafted it in partnership with the Kansas City Sports Commission & Foundation in honor of that upcoming global soccer tournament.

I forgot to bring my wallet (and physical ID) to the brewery, so I hit a purveyor near my home and legally purchased a six-pack to describe for readers of The Pitch. And I’ll say this: it’s an apt summer drink.

The flagship Space Camper Cosmic IPA, with its 5.9% ABV, is boozier and more bitter. Star Striker has a brighter flavor, with sweet, tropical notes that hint at pineapple. And it really helps that heavy, dank IPA darkness—which IPA-doubters (me) aren’t so huge on—to avoid overstaying its welcome.

With a 5.2% ABV, too, you’ll be sitting pretty for a little longer.

Boulevard Brewing Co. is located at 2534 Madison Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64108.
