Sure, this cautionary tale highlighted the importance of human relationships, but it also made a far more important point: If he had read more science fiction, he probably would have been prepared for the situation.Shop the “literature of ideas” today at a science-fiction book sale held by the University of Kansas Libraries at Watson Library (1301 Hoch Auditoria Drive, Lawrence). Readers can browse nearly 6,000 titles as well as items the library couldn’t use in its collection. Prices range from $1 for paperbacks to $3 for hardcovers.
