Books to Buy

Checking out a book from the library is all good and well until you misplace it for seven years or drip marinara all over the chapter you couldn’t tear yourself away from while eating ravioli. For some of us, it’s better just to own a book, and the Friends of the Kansas City Public Library know this. They set up shop every first Saturday in the City Market for the library’s summer book sale series. Volumes are 50 cents–$5. The sale is located in City Market at 400 Grand, on the north walkway, next to the Steamboat Arabia Museum. Sales happen through October. See kclibrary.org for more information.— Crystal K. Wiebe

First Saturday of every month, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Starts: July 3. Continues through Oct. 2, 2010
