Body found in Miami County Sunday morning
A death investigation is underway after authorities discovered a body in a wooded area in Miami County on Sunday.
A vehicle linked to a missing person from Lee’s Summit was found in a parking lot at Middle Creek State Fishing Lake on Saturday around 8:10 p.m., according to multiple reports (here, here, here, here and here).
The Miami County Sheriff’s deputies searched the area, but it was too dark to see anything. They resumed the search Sunday morning and found the body near the lake.
The sheriff’s office has not released the name of the person or the cause of death.
