Bluesday Tuesday News: Trampled Under Foot Residency at BB’s

Options for Tuesday nights are few. Once February rolls in though, there will be little room for excuses as to why you still haven’t seen one of the hardest working acts in K.C.

The brother-brother-sister trio of Nick, Kris and Danielle, otherwise known as Trampled Under Foot, is bringing the blues to B.B.’s Lawnside BBQ (1205 East 85th Street, 816-822-7427) every Tuesday in February, starting next week at 7 p.m.

A day after the new residency begins, TUF is heading to Memphis for the 25th Annual International Blues Challenge, the same competition they swept last year, where they earned the title, “The Best Blues Band in the World.”

However, after checking out blues.org, it appears that the Kansas City Blues Society’s 2009 entrant is King King.

Here is King King, pictured with blues promoter, Roger Naber, second from left. Naber, who left on the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise this past Saturday, is most likely floating along in the Eastern Caribbean, listening to the Fabulous Thunderbirds and Taj Mahal.

Right now, we are waiting on an update from the TUF camp for details on the competition.

More next Tuesday.
