Bill Self doesn’t like being photograhed at bars

Courtesy of Deadspin’s “deleted scenes,” KU coach Bill Self gets photographed … in a bar … on Mass Street … with a Mizzou fan. And Self ain’t happy. The Mizzou fan tried to talk Self into the picture, but no dice. Self wasn’t interested. Understandable. Nobody in the coaching ranks wants to be caught in a Larry Eustachy (this hurts my Cyclone soul) or Ed Podolak situation.

But the Mizzou fan had his girlfriend sanp the photo anyway, capturing the awkward shot on the left (uh, nice shirt). Self had a few choice words for the guy:

He shakes my hand again and brings me in close (so I can hear him over

the dueling pianos) to say, “you know you’re a real asshole.” I quickly

retort, “well I’m a Mizzou fan, so I don’t really give a shit.” Bill

fires back one final dig, “you would be.”
