Big Head Todd

The members of Big Head Todd and the Monsters were once Columbine High School’s most famous alumni, a distinction forever changed in 1999 by a pair of gun-toting schmucks. BHT’s season in the sun occurred nearly a decade ago with the success of its major-label debut, Sister Sweetly, which went platinum and garnered the group scads of radio play. The hard-touring trio’s subsequent albums — released with waning frequency and negligent sales — seem like afterthoughts at this point, springboards for loose and experimental live sets. Todd Park Mohr is also one of the few certifiable guitar gods out there, and anthems such as “Crazy Mary” and “Magdelina” still provide plenty of groove room for elbow dancers.
