Big 12 commish Dan Beebe says TV deal not done yet … and still waiting for Texas Tech to commit

Big 12 Minus Two commissioner Dan Beebe said the widely reported television deal isn’t done. But, Beebe said in the teleconference with reporters, the projections are good for the next TV deal. Uh, OK.

As for the commitment of the 10 teams left in the conference, Beebe said Texas Tech hasn’t pledged allegiance but he expects the Red Raiders to reaffirm their commitment at a scheduled board meeting today. Beebe gave the impression that their commitment is a formality. And don’t look for the conference to expand.

“We’re not looking to expand at all,” Beebe said, answering a questions from 610 Sports’ Nick Wright.  He added there is “no interest” among the league’s members in expansion. So kiss the football championship game goodbye (KC had played host to the game in the past, but it was likely head to Dallas).

As for Missouri, Beebe said he’s honored and “delighted” that

they’re all-in.
