Big 12 ADs say no high school games on the Longhorn Network for at least a year

Conference realignment Armageddon seems to have been averted for at least another year. The Big 12(-2) athletic directors met in Dallas Monday and unanimously agreed to “a minimum one-year moratorium” on broadcasting high school games on the Longhorn Network.

The Big 12 made the announcement on the conference’s website yesterday. The conference’s athletic directors also asked the NCAA to make a decision on whether broadcasting high school sports should be allowed.

Administrators at Texas A&M have been the loudest opponents of games airing on the network. Football coaches at Missouri and Oklahoma have also spoken out, saying it would give Texas an unfair recruiting advantage. And they’re right. It would.
