Beauty Smith was not abducted. Family court may file charges

There’s another twist in the Beauty Smith faux-abduction story. The 14-year-old told detectives that she slept over at a friend’s house and was not kidnapped.

Smith also admitted that she sent misleading text messages to her family. The text messages led Smith’s parents to call the Kansas City police, fearing their daughter was in danger.

Jackson County Family Court will decide whether to file charges against Smith.
