Batmobilia Expofest

The Comic and Toy Convention isn’t so much interested in your wallet. The vendors on hand just want your love. Note: Although admission is free, love will not be an acceptable form of payment for merchandise. The expo is a celebration for hardcore collectors and casual fans of comic books, action figures, hyper-detailed science-fiction statuary of the MacFarlane Toys variety, and also collectors of handshakes from local comic book creators. Now-ubiquitous artist Hector Casanova, accompanied by his Screamland collaborator, Harold Sipe, joins cartoonist and comics artist Nathan Fox, he of the very impressive Dark Horse miniseries Pigeons From Hell. It’s all from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wyndham Garden Hotel (7000 West 108th Street, Overland Park, 913-383-2550). Wear your Adam West utility belt and Witchblade T-shirt among a community of kindred spirits for six magnificent hours.
