Bambi is going to die in Shawnee Mission Park … again

Remember all of the controversy over culling deer in Shawnee Mission Park? The deer head of Victoria? The buckets of blood? Birth control for deer? It was so much fun last year that we’re going to do it all over again.

The Johnson County Parks and Rec board voted Wednesday to thin the herd by 33 deer, according to the Star. This comes after the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks determined that the deer population topped 60 deer per square mile. Parks people want it down to 50. So will we get another contentious fight between the parks board and animal rights activists?
