The victim in Wednesday’s brutal beating at the News Room was Jeff “Git” Hagan, a 41-year-old veteran of local bands such as Formaldehyde 5 and Blow. His friends in the local music community are outraged that the bar fight (more like assault) was allegedly allowed to progress to the point that Hagan will likely end up a quadroplegic. Not only that, the assailants escaped. Fucked up.

At noon today, Hagan’s brother posted this update on a local forum.

git is doing better. he is in icu under sedation and comming around. he has internal bruising, a lacerated eye lid, a couple of small fractures of the face and eye socket, heavy bruising on his head and face and a boot print stomped on his head from the assholes that did this. i cant say where he is until he comes out of it and has a room that can accept visitors. mine mom and sister are with him. he took some pretty good licks, er stomps to the head but we all know git has a hard head! i can’t really repot more because the cops have an ongoing case. will keep you updated. thanks for the prayers and comments.
