Bad Acid Trip

It takes a hell of a lot of nerve these days to throw around terms like frantic and chaotic to describe your own music. And it takes way more than the obvious, attention-getting spaz shtick for Bad Acid Trip to live up to the name. Luckily, this art-damaged mix of thrash, noise and theatricality has equal doses of Primus and Devo thrown in for good measure. It’ s even been compared to Tears for Fears, so there’s something right with what’s clearly wrong with these people, and that makes their show a good kind of bad acid trip. The band claims it decided to record only when its members developed a false sense of security toward their musical abilities. Gotta love self-deprecating braggarts, but a hunch says they know exactly what they’re doing.
