Attendance suggests Kauffman Stadium renovation was a waste

If a sex tape was made during honeymoon between Royals fans and Kauffman Stadium 2.0, no distributor would want it.

The Royals are averaging 19,987 fans a game this year. Nightly attendance was 19,986 in 2008, the last year of the “old” Kauffman Stadium. So it would appear that taxpayers ($225 million) and the Royals ($25 million) pooled their resources for a renovation that has resulted in a net gain of one nacho-eating fan.
