Arthur L. Dawkins, KCMO homicide No. 86: Accident leads to shooting at 38th and Broadway Shell Sunday
The bloodshed in Kansas City continued over the weekend with a midtown homicide sparked by an accident. Police say 31-year-old Arthur L. Dawkins was shot and killed during an argument in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 3786 Broadway in midtown around 2:58 a.m. Sunday.
Dawkins apparently pulled into the gas station and hit the suspect’s car — described as an “old school” royal blue Monte Carlo, possibly 1990s model — which was parked at a gas pump.
