Art Fitness

Those of you with an all-encompassing aesthetic streak, the kind that applies to both mind and body (we’re looking at you, Descartes), will find yourselves right at home during Anne Garney’s art opening at the new Scott Fitness. Garney’s paintings, city landscapes inspired by fauvism and impressionism, might at first seem out of place among treadmills and weight machines, but they fit in with the low-key vibe at Scott Fitness. The reception runs from 7 to 10 p.m. at Scott Fitness 4.0 (3600 Broadway); call 816-960-0502 for information. Go, if only to prove that the mind-body split ultimately means neglecting neither.
