Arrowhead Stadium in play for World Cup?

Hooligans, don’t get your hopes up, but Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium is one of 70 venues in the United States being considered to host the the World Cup in either 2018 or 2022. Don’t feel too special, though; every major college football and NFL stadium in the country is on the list. Hell, they even list the home of the Missouri Tigers, Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri. Sorry, Jayhawk fans. Lawrence isn’t in the running. Soccer By Ives says the U.S. bid committee has given officials from the venues an April 17th deadline to show that they’re interested in bidding on the cup. I called the Chiefs’ offices to see if they were bidding on the games, but they were closed for Good Friday.
