Are You Weady to Wock?

Parents, we hear your pain: You need something to entertain your children. But Bazooka’s has a closed-door policy for people who consume juice from boxes, and Davey’s nonsmoking policy means your kids would have to leave their Kool Kings at home. And, frankly, they’re also bored by throwing rocks at the cruisers in Liberty Memorial Park. Fortunately, Frontier Park (15501 Indian Creek Parkway, in Olathe) is hosting the four-time Grammy recipient Trout Fishing in America. The duo, composed of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet, have been writing and playing kids’ music since the 1970s. The free concert starts at 6:30 p.m. with the standouts from Olathe’s Got Talent, followed by a 7 p.m. performance by Jim Cosgrove, better known as “Mr. Stinky Feet.” For more information, see olatheks.org/ParksRec/Events/SummerConcerts. The mosh pit is for children between the ages of 6 and 9, and the park
discourages body surfing.
