Aqib Talib, former KU football star, a ‘person of interest’ in shooting

Aqib Talib, the former Kansas Jayhawk who plays cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has been hit with the dreaded “person of interest” label. Police in Garland, Texas, want to talk to Talib about a March 21 incident involving his sister, his sister’s boyfriend, his mother and two guns.
The Dallas Observer reports that Talib allegedly attempted to pistol-whip his sister’s boyfriend, Shannon Billings. The gun fell to the ground during the exchange. Billings told police that he picked up the piece and began to run, only to be fired upon by Okolo Talib, his girlfriend Saran‘s mother. Billings says Aqib took the gun from his mother and fired at least two shots before Billings disappeared into the woods.
