Annicka Martinez ID’ed as the woman found in burning car in Lafayette County

Lafayette County authorities identified Annicka Marie Martinez as the woman found in a burning car on January 12. Detectives there are now investigating Martinez’ death as a homicide.

Kansas City, Kansas, police had been looking for the 31-year-old Martinez. They wanted to talk to her about the death of Javier Reynoza.

Reynoza, 37, was shot to death in the 1700 block of Central Avenue on January 2. Wyandotte County prosecutors charged 35-year-old Ruben Richardson with second-degree murder in connection with Reynoza’s death.

Authorities say Martinez was identified “by a forensic odontologist from Omaha, Nebraska.”
