Angels Rock Bar closes for renovations

Here’s hoping you didn’t risk your life last night to party at Angels Rock Bar.

Yesterday, the Cordish-owned club that once billed itself as “Kansas City’s only true rock bar” was closed for renovations  and won’t reopen until January 15.

Managing partner Drew Coleman explained the closing in an press release.

“The new Angels Rock Bar will have more sex appeal, but with the same non-pretentious, welcoming attitude,” said Coleman. “We want to offer our guests an opportunity to indulge in some rock n’ roll decadence in a comfortable and cool atmosphere.”

The upgrades include custom wall-coverings, new “intelligent” lighting, expanded VIP seating, artwork and signage.

No word yet on whether the bras hanging from the chandelier stay or go.
