Andrew Northern

A couple of weeks ago, authorities declared two popular nightclubs, Karma and NV, unsafe (due to overcrowding and fire-safety issues, respectively), and both joints were temporarily shut down on the same night, midparty. Downtown club Madrigall reaped the refugees on the night of the closings; ever since then, business has been good. No one is happier about this than resident spinner Andrew Northern. Northern is known for playing some of the prettiest electronic music in the city, but he isn’t afraid to kick up some dust with his electro-house selections. (Chicks dig the electro-house.) The hits of the night usually include white-hot remixes by the likes of Sinden, Switch and Diplo. When he’s not working Madrigall, Northern takes his own tracks to other club DJs and bugs them to play his originals. If, one unlucky day, Madrigall, too, gets shut down, it won’t knock Northern’s hustle one bit.
