Matt Cassel connected with Dwayne Bowe on a spectacular touchdown pass to claim the lead with a little less than three minutes left in the game. But the Raiders marched down the field, and Darren McFadden scored on a five-yard run.
Kansas beat Duke 44-16 in the lowest scoring basketball game … oh, it was football. UCLA beat K-State, and Missouri dominated Furman. In the other kind of futbol, the Wizards beat Dallas.
In other news, four people were shot at a party on Brooklyn early Sunday; one has critical injuries.
Nebraska abortion provider LeRoy Carhart told KSHB Channel 41 that he’s planning to open an abortion clinic within 25 miles of Wichita by December 1. He hasn’t decided if he’ll offer late-term abortions, yet.
With Tuesday night’s NHL exhibition, the Star again runs the search-for-an-anchor-tenant story. Interesting quote from AEG’s Tim Leiweke: “We still don’t have to have an anchor tenant for this building ot have the impact that the city wanted it to have.” Also of note, the Star was careful not to give any attendance projections other than saying “a similar crowd is expected ” to last year’s 11,603.
