Amid Johnny Manziel Speculation Dallas Cowboys Tickets Up 34% For 2014

Regardless of how they performed a season ago the Dallas Cowboys are one of the premier teams in the NFL and are always at the forefront of the football universe. Thats just one of the stipulations that goes along with being “America’s Team.” The Dallas Cowboys are expected to make the playoffs every season under Jerry Jones, who is one of the most hands on owners in all of sports and is an organization not afraid of taking a gamble on a player, which many times have panned out for the betterment of the organization. One such player the Cowboys have been increasingly linked to is former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel who will be apart of next week’s NFL Draft. This is all still true despite Tony Romo being one the team and inked to a $108 million deal. Manziel has been one of the most exciting players in college football history and will be just the star player that the Cowboys have been looking for since Troy Aikman retired. Its all but a guarantee that wherever Manziel gets drafted, that franchise will benefit greatly through both ticket and jersey sales as a result.

The addition of Manziel would not be simply a ploy to sell tickets for the Cowboys, but it to say it wouldn’t have an impact would be downright wrong. For instance a year ago in 2013 Cowboys tickets had an average price of $239.71 for the season with their most expensive game coming in a virtual playoff game in Week 17 at home against the Philadelphia Eagles which averaged $493.49.

This season the Dallas Cowboys most expensive game is relatively the same coming in Week 6 at the Seattle Seahawks at $497.28, however their season average is up 34.45% to $322.28 to give them the seventh highest season average. This increase of over $80 can be attributed to the heightened expectations for 2014 having struggled at times a season ago but still almost making the playoffs.
