AMC bringing The Walking Dead to TV

AMC is turning the zombified The Walking Dead into a TV series and Frank Darabont might be directing, which should be awesome unless it’s anything like The Mist.

In 2003, writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore created the graphic novel about a small-town Kentucky cop struggling to survive following a global epidemic causing the dead to rise from the grave.

Here’s the Kansas City connection: Moore lived in Kansas City for three years, ending last September. Although Moore isn’t involved with The Walking Dead anymore, hasn’t been for a while — he stopped illustrating the interior of the book with issue No. 6 but continued the cover art through issue No. 24 (his work earned him two Eisner Award nominations) — his Web site reveals his feelings over the cable network picking up what he helped bring to life.
