Alamo Drafthouse makes its move to Kansas City official

On Monday, AMC and Cordish finally broke up for good. They’re no longer going to cooperate to run the AMC Mainstreet theater downtown. AMC said it was coming over to get its stuff at Cordish’s apartment. Cordish obliged with a box stuffed with an undisclosed amount of money.

We’ve known this was coming for a couple of weeks. We also knew that the Alamo Drafthouse, an Austin-based theater chain, will take over the space, after they mistakenly posted a press release to their site. Yesterday, when the AMC-Cordish split became official, Alamo re-released the statement giving those who enjoy mixing beer with cinema the details they were desperate for.
