Ajamu Webster, parks board member, sued over construction dispute at KCI

Cost overruns run downhill at KCI.

Kansas City, Missouri, parks board Ajamu Webster is being sued by an engineering company that asked him to work as subcontractor on the design of a rental car center at Kansas City International Airport.

The city hired BWR as the architect and engineer of a two-story car rental facility, which opened in 2007. BWR, in turn, hired DuBois Consultants, Webster’s engineering company, to prepare designs. Unhappy with construction cost overruns, the city went after BWR for damages, and now BWR is going after Webster and another subcontractor.
