AIGA Kansas City is hosting a big music discussion tonight at the Vox Theatre

  • Tonight at the Vox.

A couple of times a year, the local branch of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) hosts an installation called Homegrown. The idea is to examine the way other creative fields relate to design through conversations with, and presentations by, various Kansas City folks laboring in those fields. Tonight, at the Vox Theatre (1405 Southwest Boulevard), the theme is Homegrown: Music.

The panel includes Frankie Oviedo and Dan Gedman from Liquid 9, Ross Brown from Golden Sound Records, DJ Sheppa, and Tyler Galloway from the New Programme and KCAI. The talks start at 6:30 p.m. Preceding is a happy hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. and featuring a set from Shy Boys.

Tickets cost $10 for AIGA members, $15 for the public. More info here.
