Addiction-recovery center Welcome House receives winning lottery ticket

From The Pitch Feel Good News Desk: An anonymous man who received addiction treatment at Welcome House, a Kansas City in-patient recovery center, decided to thank the nonprofit in December by donating a winning lottery scratcher worth $20,000.

KCTV5 has the story of a man who dropped off an envelope with the ticket and a letter, which read, in part, “Thank you for helping me get my life back together. Enclosed is a winning lottery ticket that I want to donate to Welcome House. Thank you, for everything.” Greg Roark, Welcome House’s executive director, tells the TV station that he called the lottery to see if the ticket was real, and they confirmed its authenticity. Cha-ching!
