About that guy who threatened to shoot up the Northland Wal-Mart

The story of the man who threatened to shoot up a Northland Wal-Mart went from scary to sad real fast.

The guy’s neighbor told KSHB Channel 41 that the 35-year-old man is harmless, depressed and coming to grips with having terminal cancer and only two months left to live.

“He’s not a threat to anybody,” Kyle Barousse told 41. “He has no weapons. I’ve never seen him with a weapon, ever. And I’ve never seen him act violent towards anybody.”

Yesterday, the store at 8301 North Church was locked down and

surrounded by police after a man made threats of coming into the store

guns blazing.

Police said the guy tired to cash a check at the store but was turned down. He got mad and was kicked out of the store. Police arrested the man at his home. It was all a scary reminder of the 2007 Target shooting rampage on Ward Parkway.

A police spokesman told The Pitch that the man hasn’t been booked yet because he is in a local hospital receiving medical attention.

Update: Last time I ever write “sad” in a story. Crime Scene KC reports that 35-year-old Nicholas Davis was lying about dying.
