About that church raid …
The Jackson County Sheriff’s office has released a few details on the search warrant issued at 1612 N. Jennings in Independence and involving the New Covenant Faith Church.
Here’s what we know:
- One person was arrested for violating the Federal Firearms Act.
- Three people were detained and released at the scene.
- Authorities seized “numerous files, computers, firearms and a substantial amount of currency.”
- The search warrant covered a “residence, an attached apartment and a church/school located on the property.”
- The investigation is opening and ongoing.
KMBC channel 9 reported earlier that the man arrested was the church’s pastor. Early reports listed the address as 1706 N. Jennings Road and the church as the House of Prayer.
