A Nirvana Performance You Can Watch and Play Yourself
Come November, you’ll be able to own one of the most-bootlegged concerts in history — Nirvana‘s historic August 30, 1992 headlining appearance at the Reading Festival as a color-corrected video from the original film with audio sourced from the original multi-track masters. Nirvana Live At Reading will be issued in a limited deluxe edition of the CD and DVD as well as video or audio only discs, in addition to a double LP version. The CD and DVD drop on November 3, with the LP following two weeks later.
It even comes complete with “More Than A Feeling” intro to “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” which you can watch in excrutiatingly poor-quality video below.
As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll even be able to play the Reading version of “Lithium” in the upcoming edition of Guitar Hero. That’s Guitar Hero 5, for you not following along at home. The Spin article that offers the sneak peek refers to Cobain as being “notably absent” from the franchise. Personally, while I like Nirvana, I think the Van Halen edition of Guitar hero makes way more sense. “Eruption” is going to be the cause of more controller replacements than any Dragonforce shredfest.
