  • KC has more than its fair share of ghosts.

If you think you’ve seen a ghost somewhere in the City of Fountains, it turns out you’re probably not alone. CBS News recently bequeathed Kansas City the title of the ‘Haunted House Capital of the U.S.’ [h/t KCTV5]

In addition to learning that we have the largest anaconda in captivity (hold your snickering) thanks to the Edge of Hell, CBS pointed to the ghostly visions at Stull Cemetery, Union Station, the Hotel Savoy, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church and the John Wornall House. Looking back in The Pitch over the past several months, it’s stunning to see just how often ghosts come up. The bakers behind Milk & Honey offer macarons to the ghost in the Independence Regional Ennovation Center, and Green Works in Kansas City president Kate Corwin shared the time she called the police on a ghost last month. Meanwhile, Berry Anderson was a bit spooked by the living earlier this summer at an open call for a Kansas City haunted house.
