The Kansas City Mavericks were explosive on Wednesday, Feb. 26, claiming a dominant 8-3 win over the Utah Grizzlies. The Mavs got off to a hot start, scoring three goals in the first period—all within less than five minutes of each other. As the second period got underway, the Mavs found the back of the net again, as Utah would answer with one of their own. Before the second could come to an end, the Mavericks snuck yet another goal in the net. Pucks continued to fly on the ice and find homes in the net as the Mavs would score another three and the Grizzlies two of their own, resulting in the final 8-3 score. With the win, Coach Tad O’Had has now tied Scott Hillman with the most wins in Kansas City Mavericks history at 186. The timing of this feat is also significant, as it was O’Had’s birthday. O’Had and the team now look to break the record on the road against the Wichita Thunder tonight.
