Creature Feature: Periwinkle could be your perfect pet
Creature Feature is The Pitch’s weekly profile on a local animal looking for adoption. Shelters and support in Kansas City and the surrounding region are often pushed to the breaking point, so picking one future companion to highlight is how we want to put them on your radar. But there are far more than we could ever fit into our pages. Some of the frequent resources and groups we work with—who also have hundreds of other furry friends to flip through—include Great Plains SPCA, Olathe Animal Shelter, The Pet Connection, All Paws & Pals Play and Stay, Pleasant Hill Animal Control, Pawportunities, Wayside Waifs, Midwest Animal Resq, Pawsperity, Wild Souls Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, Humane Society Pet Food Pantry, KC Action For Animals, and Pet Resource Center of KC. For more resources like these, and for everything that help people with their needs too, check out The Pitch’s Community Resource Guide.
Here’s this week’s Creature Feature:
Periwinkle is a stunning one-year-old Pointer who’s been patiently waiting for the perfect family to call her own. She’s the total package—goofy, loving, and incredibly smart. Periwinkle thrives around other dogs her size at the shelter, loves humans with all her heart, and finds cats… well, a little intimidating!
Whether she’s playing with toys or snuggling on the couch after a fun day, Periwinkle is the definition of joy. Her sweet personality and playful spirit make her an amazing companion who’s ready to bring endless love to your life.
