Find your next connection with Where To Find Us, a new queer-centric matchmaking event that brings singles together for a night of love and laughter on Nov. 21.

Located at the Parlor KC [1707 Locust St.], the event gives friends a chance to pitch their single bestie to a room of potential matches. Lo Cowan and Tiffany Watts created Where To Find Us as a new addition to Kansas City’s queer dating scene that goes beyond your typical night out.

“The queer community already knows how to throw a good party, and Kansas City’s thriving event scene is proof of that,” says Cowan. “But we wanted to create something different—an event focused on honoring our single friends, while still being fun and full of connection.”

The night will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by a series of three to five minute pitches where friends use witty storytelling and humorous slideshows to spotlight their bestie, according to a press release.

Friendship and community take center stage with this new dating experience while opening new possibilities to find romance in a safe and inclusive space. Whether you’re there to play Cupid, or just want to enjoy the show—There’s a bit of something for everyone to enjoy.

“There’s something truly special about bringing people together—not just for love, but to strengthen the bonds of friendship and connection,” says Watts.

Those interested in participating in the matchmaking event can apply to show off their best friend at this link by Nov. 13. Rules, guidelines, and frequently asked questions are available online. If chosen to present, slideshows must be submitted 48 hours in advance of the event.

If you can’t make it to next month’s event, don’t worry! Cowan and Watts plan to have Where To Find Us become a series of opportunities to explore queer connections. As mentioned in the press release, future events will be held across a variety of spaces in KC that are “inspiring, thought-provoking, and empowering.”

“We want Where To Find Us to become a cornerstone of queer community events and eventually grow into something even bigger—a place where we can gather outside of the typical party scene and focus on building meaningful relationships,” says Watts.

Tickets to attend Where To Find Us are available to purchase online. The Early Bird Special is $10 and ends on Nov. 14, meanwhile regular tickets are $15 and can be purchase online or at the door. More information can be found here.
