Photos: Royals take a 9-5 loss in game two against the Angels
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, the Kansas City Royals fell short to the L.A. Angels in a 9-5 loss. After the Angels took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth, the Royals answered back in the bottom, scoring two of their own. L.A. would be the first to clap back, sending another three across the plat in the sixth inning, and two more in the seventh. The Royals managed to scrape up three runs in the seventh, narrowing the lead to 7-5, but they would still fall short, as the Angels would score again in the ninth, making it a 9-5 game. As August comes to a close, the MLB Wildcard race is beginning to ignite, and the Royals sit among the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins for the three-team cut-off. If they can manage to keep winning series, they should be able to secure a wildcard spot in the 2024 MLB Postseason. Game three against the Angels tonight is the next test.
