Photos: Royals take a 7-3 loss to the San Diego Padres this past weekend
The Royals took on the San Diego Padres the first weekend of June in a three-game series, only able to scrape up one win before taking off to play Cleveland this week in another three-game series. Saturday’s June 1 game ended in a 7-3 loss to the Padres, with two of the Royals’ three runs coming from a homer from Vinnie Pasquantino in the first inning that sent himself and Bobby Witt Jr. to home plate for a 2-1 lead. The Royals would find another run from Dairon Blanco off of another Pasquantino RBI in the third inning, yet this would be the last time they raised the score.
Ending the series with a three-run comeback win in the ninth inning for a 4-3 victory, the Royals are now on a short road trip. With a 36-25 record after the series, the team hopes to sweep the Cleveland Guardians, which would help level the odds, as the Guardians are first in the AL Central.
