The Ship seeks community support for sound engineer Erik Pitcock’s hospice care
Erik Pitcock has serviced the ears of the Kansas City community behind the scenes as The Ship’s sound engineer. Over The Pitch’s time covering music around the area, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to been in attendance for many of the copious amounts of great shows that Pitcock has helped produced.
“If you have ever been to The Ship, you have seen him behind the soundboard, running all the shows, making them sound fantastic. He has been essential in making every night there fun with his skills, and genuine love for music, The Ship said in an Instagram post.
Recently, at just 43 years old, Pitcock was hospitalized and diagnosed with stage four lung cancer that has now spread to his brain. He has decided to enter hospice care on Wednesday, May 22, and he, his family, The Ship, and The Pitch are asking that the community help pay it forward by supporting him during this time.
