Afentra will host a weekday afternoon show on X105.1 FM

Six months after 96.5 The Buzz declined to renew her contract — and four months after hosting The Pitch‘s Best of Kansas City party — radio host Afentra announced this morning she will be joining X105.1 FM as its new weekday afternoon host. Her show, The Afentra (Show), will air Monday through Friday, 3 to 8 p.m. Local comedian Patrick Moore will co-host.

“X105.1 didnʼt just say they wanted me, they showed me,” Afentra says in a release. “Iʼm not just talking monetarily. Wanting me, my thoughts and my experience — that speaks to my soul, matching their words with actions. I’m rested, excited, and ready to win!”

As Afentra notes in this clip, the time slot will put her in competition with her ex-husband, Lazlo, whose Church of Lazlo program runs weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Lazlo responded this morning to the news with a gracious tweet. 

The Afentra (Show) will debut next Thursday, February 7.
