The Truman
Last night, Dan Auerbach, who’s made a career of pared-back, two-part arrangements, opted to showcase his solo material with a band stacked with legendary session performers, including keyboardist Bobby Wood (who played with Elvis Presley and Dusty Springfield), drummer Gene Chrisman (Presley, Aretha Franklin), pedal-steel guitarist Russ Paul (Elton John, Leon Russell) and bassist Dave Roe (Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson). All recently performed on Auerbach’s recent solo LP, Waiting on a Song. The show also featured a cameo from Shannon Shaw of Shannon and the Clams, as well as bluesman Robert Finley. Both artists are on Auerbach’s label, Easy Eye Sound. Check out the photos below.
