Mike Cierpiot likes a bunch of creepy, sexist things on Twitter

The funniest news story of last week was about Ted Cruz being a horny boy who likes MILF porn tweets. It was funny because Cruz’s family-values routine is so hollow and phony it almost demands that you ponder what kind of sick shit he’s getting into late at night in front of the ol’ keyboard. The most interesting thing about the Cruz story, ironically, was how unsurprising it was. He is who we thought he was. 

If the guy who almost got the Republican nomination for President is that careless, we figured surely the creeps who run Missouri’s state government are also liking bizarre content.

In November, a special election will be held to fill the Missouri Senate seat vacated by Will Kraus, who is moving on to a cushy job he doesn’t deserve with the Missouri Tax Commission. 

Kraus represents the 8th District, which includes parts of Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Oak Grove, Grain Valley, and other such municipalities on the eastern edge of the metro. Hillary Shields, an organizer with Indivisible KC, is the Democratic candidate for the seat. Republicans have selected Mike Cierpiot, currently the Missouri House majority leader, as their nominee. Cierpiot is termed out of the House next year, and the Senate seems to be the next logical step. (Jacob Turk, known for his many failed attempts to unseat Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, is currently trying to get his name on the ballot as an independent, which would add an interesting dynamic to that race.)

Since Cierpiot’s the only local-ish Republican currently running for a seat, we decided to give his Twitter a scroll-through to see what kind of stuff he’s been likin’.

Turns out: weird stuff. Also: pretty sexist.
