Every single House Republican in Missouri and Kansas voted to block disclosure of Trump’s tax returns

On Monday, Bill Pascrell, a Democratic Congressman from New Jersey, introduced a resolution that would require President Trump to disclose his tax returns, as every president has since Gerald Ford. There are many very good reasons why Trump’s business interests should be known, most obviously because of potential national security implications.
There is really no legitimate reason for not requiring Trump to reveal this information; he even said, back in 2014, that he would “absolutely” “love to” to disclose his tax returns. Nevertheless, he continues to fail to make good on that promise, and the cowardly members of the Republican party continue to show themselves unwilling to hold him accountable. The vote on Pascrell’s resolution yesterday supplied yet more evidence of Republicans’ capitulation to Trump. Every single Republican member of the House voted to block Pascrell’s measure (two merely voted “present”). That includes every single House Republican in both Missouri and Kansas.
