Is Kansas City’s missing Baby Lisa Irwin in Greece? (updated)

An attorney representing the family of Lisa Irwin has contacted Greek authorities to see whether a toddler found in a Gypsy camp there is the Kansas City baby who went missing in 2011 when she was 11 months old.

The Daily Mail in England says the Irwin family is one among four American families who think that a girl who had been abducted into a Greek Gypsy camp might be their child.

Two Gypsies were picked up in northern Greece on suspicion of child abduction.

But the facts could get in the way of this good story.

The age of the girl in Greece, who is named Maria, is not confirmed although she is thought to be perhaps as old as five years, whereas Lisa Irwin would be approaching three years of age today.

Irwin’s case has been a frustrating one in Kansas City. She went missing in the dead of night in October 2011. Her disappearance was first noted by her father Jeremy Irwin upon returning home from a late work shift.

The mother, Deborah Bradley, fessed up to drinking too much that evening and speculated that an intruder entered and took her baby while she was asleep.
