Mayor Mark Funkhouser’s sparsely attended carnival/town hall meeting at Sprint Center

Mayor Mark Funkhouser’s town hall meeting at the Sprint Center last night was bizarre, sad and sparsely attended. The 18,000 seat arena looked cavernous with maybe 300 people attending (and that might be generous). Many of the attendees were students and school officials there to collect awards. Take a look at the town hall with dancers, Ren Festers and a drum core to push Funkhouser’s fledgling Schools First initiative. But we did get free popcorn and water (thanks, taxpayers!).
