Tennis Fanatic? Here’s a Ticket Preview for American’s Lone Major, the U.S. Open
The US Open is coming soon to New York and tennis fans across the nation will be clamoring for US Open tickets. Every year, thousands of tennis fanatics come to Queens to watch the best tennis players in the world perform in one of the sport’s biggest competitions. While several other tournaments will be taking place all over the country during 2014, the U.S. Open is undoubtedly the biggest tourney on American soil. If you’re looking to make the trek from Kansas City, here’s a guide.
If you want to buy the individual sessions, US Open tickets for the first session will cost you at least $48. Tickets for the majority of the earlier sessions will hover around that get-in price, going up and down depending on the weather and who is playing. It may seem a bit steep but it’s a relative pittance compared to Wimbledon tickets, which will cost almost $2000 just to grab a seat. As for the championship round at Arthur Ashe Stadium, it is a whole different story. For the final session, the minimum price $242 dollars, while the most expensive ticket on the market is going to cost you $3,888. The average ticket price is $1,051. Ticket prices will certainly change as we near the tournament and could go up or down dependent upon which players ultimately make the finals. Weather will be another key factor as several previous tournaments had multiple delays and postponements.
For the first time in many years, there isn’t a clear cut heavyweight in the men’s game. There’s several players – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka – are all capable of winning the title and it will be an incredibly competitive month of tennis. For any fans out there looking to see the best competition in the world, make sure to check out the U.S. Open!
