Johnny Jo’s Pizzeria owner John Milone opening second location

After operating his West Plaza pizzeria, Johnny Jo’s, for the last 30 months, restaurateur John Milone is expanding his operation: He’ll open a new pizza shop called the Pizzeria at  516 West 103rd Street (in the shopping strip where the popular Coach’s Bar & Grill is located). The carryout venue is scheduled to open in the former Rosati’s Pizza location, Milone says, on May 6.

The new pizzeria will feature many of the pizza creations he created for Johnny Jo’s (there will be a signature Johnny Jo’s Pizza), but he won’t offer his unique sandwiches in the new venue right away.

“I have plans for the Pizzeria, but they’re for down the road a bit. I plan to have delivery in that location and to offer all five of my sauces, pasta and sandwiches,” Milone says. The new restaurant will also be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Milone says he’s not worried about the stress that comes with operating two locations: “I love making pizza and I plan to have a great staff to help me in the new location. I obviously can’t be there all the time. But I have high hopes for the new restaurant.”
