Midnight Evils

The winner of the Pitch Music Award for Best Rock Band won’t be revealed until late August, though perhaps once that happens we should work out some kind of exchange program with Minneapolis, seeing as how they’re already sending their Best Rock Band of 2003 here. Declared as such by the Minneapolis City Pages, the punk-garage outfit Midnight Evils released its second album, Straight ‘Til Morning, last March. It’s another round of punishment, the potential soundtrack for getting beat up and passing out in the alley behind the bar. Since making the record, vocalist Jonny Evans has left the fold, but the remaining Evils picked themselves up, dusted themselves off and resumed rocking, with guitarist Steve Cooper and bassist Curan Folsom swapping vocal duties. Citizens of Minneapolis, please note: No matter what the outcome of the PMAs, we are still willing to give you Overstep. (Relax. We jest.)
